They didn't have anything like this when I was there, it was a very traditional school. It is wonderful to see the school broadening their horizons and doing what is best for their students. I am now a classroom teacher working toward my masters at the UW and just completed a certificate in ecology, community, and outdoor education. Gardening and education play a vital role in a students ability to make healthy choices for themselves and for their planet. I can't say it enough... this is wonderful! I have also started a blog for teachers who are just beginning to take their students outside, who want to start a garden or compost system and integrate getting into the dirt into their curriculum. It's nice to see celebrities on board now and even though it does not get as much hype as the alice waters larchmont edible gardens it inspired, it is about twenty times bigger and the kids and community really worked to make it happen.Lacey Vintornoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4239743125590048287.post-67726064977275088692009-12-21T07:18:31.160-08:002009-12-21T07:18:31.160-08:00This series is a lot of fun. It also helps the environment by indirectly helping prevent climate change.

Nice video about worm composting by the way.redwigglerwormshttp://www.gardenworms.com/noreply@blogger.com
